French painter (1769-1819). Set of two autograph letters in French to the soprano Caroline Branchu (1780-1850): "... I've just come back from the stagecoaches, I don't know yet exactly what day we won't be able to get seats for these happy 6-wheeled carriages...", and "... I cannot express to you how much my heart bled to leave you, after having remained for a few days in your intimacy and having been showered with all kindness, attention and friendship for you...".  Both letters are 5 x 7.8 inches in size, 1 written page each, some creases and folds, in overall good condition (see scans provided). Italian sculptor and art critic (1886-1963). Lot of three autograph letters signed by him, dated between 1921 and 1922 where he addresses Art critic Henry Lapauze, expressing his gratitude for the flattering words the editor kindly introduced him to the readers in Lapauze's magazine. Different sizes and lengths, in very good condition or better (see scans). SOLD TOGETHER, NOT SOLD SEPARATELY.  

American artist (1938-2023), known for his minimalist style, although his work also has roots in abstract expressionism, color field painting, and lyrical abstraction. Signed photograph, shown possibly in his home studio, size is 5 x 6.75 inches, in excellent condition. 

Italian artist (1926-2001), set designer, opera and film director, and book illustrator. Original handmade ink drawing titled "Great Circus" (probably for a children's book or play) signed by him over the lower-right corner, made on soft white cardboard. Size is 16.5 x 10.8 inches, no year indicated, mounting traces on verso, minor stains on the front lower-left corner, otherwise in excellent condition.

English artist (1898-1986), well-known for his abstract and monumental bronze sculptures.  Beautiful photograph of him, signed by him; ink-stamped on verso by photographer Gemma Levine, London.  Size is 3.75 x 5.9 inches, in very good condition.

American artist (1921-2012) known for his brilliantly colored, expressionist paintings and screenprints of athletes, musicians, and sporting events. First Day cover signed by him, with postal marking indicating Philadelphia November 4, 1988. Size is 6.5 x 3.5 inches, in excellent condition.

English photographer (b. 1967), known for his portraits of tribal and indigenous peoples. Photograph signed by him showing image of an indigenous possibly African person promoting a March 2016 Vienna show displaying his work entitled "Before They Pass Away". Size of this item is 5.75 x 8.25 inches, in excellent condition. 

American artist (1907-1993) and entrepreneur, best known for her boldly colored linen patterns and scarves signed "Vera" and featuring a ladybug. Autograph letter in English signed by her, dated June 15th, no year specified, to Arturo Toscanini: “…I am sending you the bookseller’s receipt for the Burrell “Wagner” book. I hope you have been able to look at it by this time and that you are pleased with your purchase. I want to tell you again how much joy your concerto has given me; everything I have heard under your direction has the music, and both Ernest and I are longing to hear you play some Tchaikovsky. Either the 5th or 6th Symphonies or the Romeo and Juliette Fantasia or the Francesca da Rimini. We love the music and we never hear it played as we imagine it…”. Size is 5.2 x 7 inches, 2 written pages in one sheet (front and back), with letterhead, creases, folds, in overall very good condition.

Austrian painter (1832-1903) of Italian ascend. Set of 2 autograph letters signed by the painter: one of them is 2 pages long, the other is 3 pages long; both in German (sold untranslated).  Size is the same for both: 4.5 x 7 inches, central folds, in excellent condition.

Famous Spanish painter (1881-1973), sculptor, printmaker, and ceramist who spent most of his life living in France. Beautiful color print from one of his works signed by him over the lower-right border, an original part from the art collection of Rene Bertelet. Size is 9.7 x 8.1 inches, in excellent condition.

Polish painter (1855-1940), and teacher, his works focused mostly on portraits and landscapes. Pochwalski lived for many years in Vienna, - and his works are exhibited in many Austrian museums as well as Polish - returning to Krakow after WWI. Two autograph letters signed, dated in 1896, in German, sold untranslated. Each one is in one sheet handwritten on both sides, 4.25 x 5.9 inches, in excellent condition.

Famous English book illustrator (1867-1939), and one of the leading figures of the golden age of British book illustration.  Autograph letter signed by him, dated in 1920, about some personal business. One page, 7.9 x 9.9 inches, barely noticeable folds, in very good condition. ALSO INCLUDED is one of his illustrated books: "Siegfried & The Twilight of the Gods", first edition, 1911, 32 color plates, wear on covers, in very good condition inside. 

Russian illustrator (1891-1970) also known as "Rojan", well known both for children's book illustration and for erotic art.  Signed photograph with a short sentiment, shown with his daughter.  Size is 5.1 x 7 inches, in excellent condition.

Italian set and costume designer (1865-1936), director and illustrator, considered the greatest of his generation; and also known as "Caramba". His business card with a costume design drawn by him on the verso. Size is 3.9 x 2.25 inches, overall soft age-toning, creases, dirt stains, in overall good condition.

German painter (1823-1880). Autograph letter signed by him, written in German (sold untranslated), dated in Hamburg, 1872.  Size is 5.4 x 8.3 inches each page, 2 pages written on both sides of one sheet, folds, in excellent condition.

British artist (1865-1965), famous in her time for her novels. Fine greeting postcard signed by her on verso with a short sentiment dated 1925. Size is 5.5 x 3.4 inches, in very good condition.

French painter and illustrator (1864-1901), and one of the most famous artists of the Post-Impressionist period. Autograph letter signed, in 2 pages, in French. Lautrec updates his mother on his busy schedule, recent work and an upcoming show of his work: "...If I have not written you it is that I have been overbooked with work. I have worked as much as I am able only on my drawing of Figaro, but Bachon is not happy, I have not sent him Figaro. He made the observation to me that as an artist I have to show all the best works I am doing always so maybe I should not show it. I think that you would want me to listen to this sage reasoning...I am going to work this evening at the bar...Shoot!...". Each page is 5.1 x 8 inches, folds and some professionally repaired cracks and missing paper, tape marks on verso, in overall very good condition. ALSO INCLUDED are a transcription of the text in French, and a photo postcard of Toulouse-Lautrec shown in his studio in front of a model and a painting - a nice image for anyone who wants to frame this fantastic autograph letter.

French comic book artist (b.1927) and scriptwriter, famous for her work Asterix Series of comics in collaboration with Rene Goscinny. Signed photo shown with an Asterix figurine. Size is 4.75 x 7 inches, in very good condition.

Italian painter (1919-2006). Nice black-and-white photograph mounted on soft black cardboard signed by him in white ink, shown in front of one of his works. Total size is 5.1 x6.75 inches, actual photo is 4 x 5.9 inches, in excellent condition.

Famous Italian fashion designer (1946-1997). Fine black-and-white photograph signed by him. Size is 6.9 x 9.3 inches, in excellent condition.

American artist (1928-1987), film director, and producer; and American novelist (1924-1984), screenwriter, playwright, and actor. Magazine "Interview" (issued in 1979) signed on the cover by Andy Warhol and Truman Capote with a black felt tip pen. The magazine includes interviews with both artists plus Debbie Harry (cover photo).   Size is 11 x 16.7 inches, full magazine will all pages, authentication sticker on the back cover, minor cracks, overall rust toning, in very good condition. Rare!

American artist (1928-1987), director and producer, was a leading figure in pop art. Signed (initialized) book "The Philosophy of Andy Warhol - From A to B & Back Again", first edition, 1975, Harcourt Brace Jovanovich, New York and London. A total of 242 pages plus covers, 5.75 x 8.5 inches, dust covers and book in excellent condition.

American artist (1928-1987), director, and producer, was a leading figure in pop art. Black-and-white photo postcard signed by him. Size is 3.5 x 5.4 inches, small loss of paper over the upper-left corner, in overall excellent condition.

American cartoonist (1927-2016) who was a top editor at Charlton Comics (1971-1985), where he also became the long-time regular artist on Popeye comic books. Original cartoon of Popeye signed in blue ink with a short sentiment and dated in 2010. Size is 8.5 x 10.7 inches, in excellent condition.

American architect (1867-1959), designer, writer, and educator, who designed more than 1000 structures over a creative period of 70 years. Large photograph signed and inscribed by him to fellow architect George Brigham (1889-1977); and also signed with a pencil by photographer Don Wallace. Size is 10.9 x 13.9 inches, minor silvering over the top, small creases on all corners, probably trimmed from a larger format, in overall excellent condition.

American photographer (1929-2014) and pinup model, whose work was very prolific and successful during the 1950s and 1960s, and described as ubiquitous in that era. Gorgeous half-tone photograph (probably from a magazine) signed by her, with an inscription printed at the bottom, around the early 1950s. Size is 11 x 14 inches, in excellent condition.
