Theater and Stage - Unsigned Photos

Wonderful album from France, 1880s, with pages containing 44 original albumen prints of nude female models, all mounted on the pages.  Each page is 8.3 x 10 inches, rust stains on pages, mostly not on photos, blue hardcovers, all tied up with a black cloth thread, in overall very good condition. Great lot of 46 CDVs or carte-de-visite, some mini-cabinet photos with Austrian and German actors from the 1860s, all unsigned. Some of the names are identified on verso in pencil, a few with ink, and include: Anna Müller, Fichtner, Hartman, Knaack, Lewinsky, Gallimeyer, Mareck, Gabrillov, Reimers, Kaufmann, Holbein, Heissler, Hartmann, Arnst, and others. English stage and silent film actor (1850-1911), whose full name was Harold Kyrle Money Bellew. Unsinged cabinet photograph, shown as himself. Photo by Braunecky, New York. Size is 4.25 x 6.5 inches, some paper loss on top and bottom left corners, as well as on verso, otherwise in good condition.

Star French stage actress (1844-1923) who starred in some of the most popular French plays of the late 19th and early 20th centuries. A program for performances programmed and starred by the French actress in New York during her last visit to the United States, no dated provided but circa the late 1910s.  Size is 6.75 x 9.7 inches, full program with all pages and covers, some stains on the cover, loose covers, otherwise in very good condition.

German-born American stage and film actress (1870-1968), unsigned cabinet photograph, shown as herself, a photo by R. Schlegel, Elberfeld. Size is 4 x 6.5 inches, in excellent condition.

German stage and film actor (1857-1929), worked at Vienna's Burgtheatre for most of his career, becoming Chief Director in 1920, also appeared in several films. Original unsigned cabinet-style photograph of him by photographer Rudolf Krzinaek, Vienna. Size is 4.25 x 6.5 inches, spotted rust stains on the front, minor stains on verso, otherwise in excellent condition.  

English writer (1812-1870) and social critic, probably the greatest writer of the Victorian era. Unsigned carte-de-visite (CDV) by Gurney, New York, 2.5 x 4.1 inches, pencil markings on verso, in excellent condition.

French actress (1821-1858), well known in her time as "Rachel", being a prominent figure in society, reputed to be the mistress of Napoleon III and other important figures. Absolutely gorgeous lithograph -an original by Ritter (Paris), depicting Felix in costume as Roxane in Jean Racine's play "Bajazet"; printed by Lemercie, and beautifully hand-colored and signed with black crayon by Henri Grevedon (1776-1860) in 1838. Size is 16.5 x 20.25 inches, some stains, repaired cracks, in overall very good condition. A stunningly beautiful item that will look great framed!

Austrian actor (1835-1907). Set of three unsigned CDVs inside a leather album (wallet-style) with metal lock and clutch.  Album's size is 3.4 x 4.5 inches, in excellent condition. 

French actress (1843-1891), dancer, and singer. Fine vintage carte-de-visite (CDV) photo of her by Mayer & Pierson. Size is 2.3 x 3.7 inches, mounting traces on verso, in very good condition.

American stage actor (1858-1932), songwriter, and singer. Beautiful vintage cabinet photograph of a very young Chauncey Olcott by photographer Donovan, New York. Size is 4.25 x 6.5 inches, minor loss of paper over the lower-left border, some wear, in overall very good condition.

Irish-born American actress (1857-1916), unsigned cabinet photograph, shown possibly in role, a photo by Mora, New York. Size is 4.25 x 6.25 inches, some paper loss on various corners, otherwise in very good condition.

Distinguished Italian actress (1822-1906), who was often referred to as "the Marquise". Beautiful vintage carte-de-visite (CDV) of the actress by Moline y Albareda (Barcelona), shown probably in role. Size is 2.5 x 4 inches, ink and pencil markings on verso, otherwise in excellent condition.

French actress (1833-1893). Fine vintage carte-de-visite (CDV) photograph of her mounted on cardboard, from 1856 by photographer Pierre Petit (Paris). Total size is 4.2 x 6.2 inches, ink writing, in overall very good condition.

Set of 8 unsigned cabinet photos of the Spanish soprano who sang opera and operetta. Original photos by Spanish photographer Antoni Esplugas, Barcelona, each one is 4.1 x 6.5 inches. Some in role, minor stains, ink markings on verso, one has a big crease, all in very good condition.  

American actor (1859-1933) who specialized in dashing, romantic leading roles and particularly Shakespeare roles. Large-sized imperial cabinet photograph of him by photographer Sarony (New York), depicted in The Prisoner of Zenda, mounted on hard cardboard.  Total size is 8.5 x 14 inches, in very good condition.

Collection of 8 unsigned cabinet photos of Spanish actresses, original photographs by A. Esplugas, Barcelona.  Names include sisters Maria Alegria (2) and Clotilde Alegria (3), Consuelo Anaya, Flix and Elisa Romero. Each one is 4.25 x 6.5 inches, except the cabinet photo with Consuelo Anaya (with the image of an actress called Badillo on verso), which is slightly larger and not identified as by Esplugas.
