First edition libretto, signed and inscribed on a front blank, in German, in purple ink, "From his most distinguished friends and patrons", "Master Hans Makart" and "The Author: Richard Wagner". Approx. size is 6 x 8.75 inches, gilt-lettered calf by Seufft, Bayreuth, Mainz, 1877; inscription dated January 1st, 1878. This just 8 months after Wagner finished writing Parsifal´s libretto and years before the composition of Parsifal´s score was completed! - Noticeable wear on leather cover, binding area has damage although pages are tightly bound-no loose pages or covers, 90 pages
